Until recently, the tallest building in Ireland was the 18-story County Hall in my native Cork. In a country of single and two story housing, an 18 story building is a huge landmark. When it was first built in 1965, the local newspaper called it ‘massive’ and ‘gigantic.’ The world trade towers though were taller, (Ahem).
At 110 stories each, our County Hall barely came up to their ankles. Each of those New York buildings had 43,600 windows, (FFS) totaling 600,000 sq. feet of glass. They were constructed with a steel inner core and then unusually, with a further steel outer core also, both cores connected by multiple steel struts on every floor. In all, the steel used in each building weighted in at a hefty 200,000 tons and were mostly military grade. There were six acres of Marble throughout, some in huge slabs on the walls of the lobby. Each floor was one acre in size and the floors contained 5 million square feet of gypsum and 425,000 cubic yards of concrete. They estimate the total (unoccupied), weight of each structure was about 500,000 tons. A million tons between both of them. Fucking ginormous!

which takes you through the design and building of these revolutionary structures in the early seventies. That they took several years to complete and yet just hours to totally demolish is still a mystery, despite the 9/11 Commission, (or maybe because of it?)
A fully laden Boeing 767 weighs about 200 tons. A fully laden 757 is even lighter. When you compare these weights with what they hit that fateful day, and the sheer immensity and weight of those buildings, it is hard to see the little guys bringing down the big guys, but strangely, that’s just what they did or so we were told. Proponents of that theory ask you to consider the speed the jets were flying at so, could they have a point? You’d have to believe that 200 tons flying at 500MPH coming into contact suddenly with an immoveable object, would cause damage, wouldn’t it?
However, Newton’s third law states they every action has an equal and opposite reaction. In terms of 9/11 then, what that means is that the jets hitting the buildings was the exactly the same thing as the buildings hitting the jets. In other words, imagine a hollow aluminum tube weighing 200 tons, hanging solidly still in suspended animation, being hit by a 500,000 ton steel building traveling at 500MPH. You see one is the same as the other and the outcomes should be exactly the same. But of course, when you imagine that scenario, the hollow aluminum tube is squashed to a pulp by the building’s steel outer core as the structure itself flies on without even a hiccup. Even if the fuel explodes, it does so on the outside in a quickly dissipating fireball. It is the equivalent of a huge heavy steel hammer swinging down fast and slamming onto an empty beer tin on the ground. So it is this, among other things, that make the official version of the day a load of unbelievable bullshit.
As I sat on a low wall on the other side of the road from our Cork County Hall last week, that I pondered these facts. It lies on the airport flightpath and it is common to see jets glide gently over the building as they prepare to land two miles away. As a Ryanair 737 buzzed overhead, I tried to imagine what it would be like if it swooped down and hit the side of the damned thing. The County Hall does not have a steel outer core to protect it. It is all glass and concrete and no doubt one of Michael O’Leary’s cowboys would easily penetrate the windows on any of the floors. But in terms of pure physics, there is no way that his 737 would enter on one side and exit on the other. It would inevitably crumple as it is hit the centre steel lift shaft no matter what speed it came in at.
Even then, I don’t believe our proud County Hall would fall within an hour. There would be deaths of course and it is likely that the bill to fix the damage would far outweigh the price professional demolition experts would charge to bring it down in an orderly fashion.
But given what has already been done in the name of 9/11, (between 500,00 and one million Iraqis killed), and the many other countries destroyed as a result, I think we owe it to humanity to demand another inquiry. The destruction of those buildings has justified atrocities all around the world, committed by the US with impunity. Their latest adventure into Syria is as a result also, the so-called and never ending war of terror. But their Syrian adventure has even bigger stakes for all of us as it alone, could result in nuclear mushroom clouds suddenly springing up all around the globe and engulfing us all. And if that weren’t bad enough, the decision to begin that lies with none other than Donald Trump!!!!
