MY PREDICTED DANGERS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR (2017).
√ The US currency is not backed by anything making its value highly debatable. Whether this year or next, or some other time in the near future, I expect the dollar to collapse. This will take down every other economy in the world and cause untold hardship in every corner of the globe.
√ Saudi Arabia is destabilized and in very aggressive mood. The Qatar problem and their unlawful invasion of Yemen is merely a prelude to a war with Iran and if that happens, it brings to the fore the great internecine war between Sunni and Shiite Muslims in the Arab world. If that happens you can expect fuel rationing and all the chaos that brings while the sands of the desert burn.
√ It is my belief that a ‘Shadow Government’ actually rules the US and not Trump. This crowd appear to have convinced themselves that the answer to everything is a shooting war with Russia. Such a war will inevitably go nuclear and reading between the lines, those Shadow Yanks believe they can win such a war and rule the world after it. Just what kind of world though is hard to imagine.
√ Closer to home, after barely surviving a property and bank crash in 2008, the current Government are doing everything in their power to once again overheat the property market and the banks are right behind them. Homelessness and desperation are their friends in this quest as are the current low interest rates. If this is not reversed, we are heading for another crash, perhaps one we may not come out of.
√ The strength of out Irish economy is based on foreign direct investment. However, even if nothing changes for the worst outside the country, our home grown morons have pointed everything Irish to Dublin. The Dublin catchment area now stretches sixty miles North, sixty miles West and sixty miles South of the Capitol. That is on an island 300 miles long and 140 miles wide. It’s madness! Services and Government spending outside of this area have been contracting for years, to the point that Dublin has become overcrowded and unmanageable. The lack of housing, cost of building and lack of proper infrastructure will turn foreign direct investment away and threaten that which is already here. The focus and centralization in Dublin will ruin an already fragile economy.
√ BREXIT presents a moving of the goalposts leaving Ireland still economically dependent on UK & US trade for our survival and prosperity while being tied to Europe politically. In this regard it would appear our politicians are happy to let the EU negotiate on our behalf and this is fatal to my mind. The EU will naturally act in its own interests and those interests are German and French primarily.
√ The common taxation platform plans for the EU will forever alter what we can offer foreign direct investment. A standard corporate tax rate for every EU country will see our existing exporting wealth implode and with it our ability to pay the, (alleged), €200bn we owe the ECB and the IMF. When this common taxation plan is brought in, (and it will be), we are simply fucked. We will see 70% unemployment, social services will disappear, people will take to the streets and the whole shebang will go tits up. Presently the EU sees us as the best ‘PIG’ country but they’ll throw us to the wolves is we can’t pay up, believe me!
√ Northern Ireland too is starting to become precarious again. A hard border will be used by the extreme elements to bring the gun back into politics, with all that entails. Our democracy is already weak, (if we have a proper democracy at all?). You can forget about human rights or entitlements in this scenario.
√ Lastly I would point to the absence of common sense at the highest levels in the modern world. We seem to have drifted into a liberal morass of anything goes coupled with an authoritarian and ever changing definition of what is right and wrong. Things are now legal that used to be illegal and vice versa. Not much of it makes sense as the Western World scrambles from one nonsense to the next. As a bloke dies of cold outside the Dail one night, those inside are debating gay marriage. Science and Medicine are for sale to the highest bidder and true integrity doesn’t exist among the decision makers. You are invited to insult the Christian God while it is a crime to do the same with Allah. It is all upside down and inside out and yet we are expected to wear this new garment in public with pride. So for me, society has become very ill. The importance of this will make itself obvious when the shit hits the fan and we are truly in trouble. The intelligence to see practical solutions and the backbone to get us out of off the shit is no longer there. So it will be every man for himself and the rulers will look after themselves first and only!
There’s more of course but I think I can guess with confidence that most of us have a sense of dread deep down without being able to verbalise why. Somewhere deep inside the thinking person everywhere is a feeling that things are flying wildly out of control in a way that has never happened before. Superficially, it seems, life goes on but there is that nagging doubt in out hearts that asks, “For how long more?” A calamity is going to hit somewhere that will set in motion a chain reaction of other calamities everywhere and then our lives as we know them will cease to be. I suspect the new reality when it eventually settles will be unbearable though.
Finally though, just to give you a flavour of how it could all potentially kick off, you should sit down and watch, “Live Breaking News from London 5th July 2017 – Russian jet shot down by NATO forces.” This is a BBC work of fiction, (thankfully), but very well done nevertheless.
What struck me most forcibly about this one-hour film is that it is precisely how we will all hear about anything real first. Given it is not real though but simply a cobbled together set of library clips used to create an imaginary scenario, can you not see how news can be created rather than reported on. Even if you should see something like this on your TV some time soon, it may not actually be happening at all. Trust me, if I hadn’t told you this video is fictional and you watched it, you would truly believe we were hours from nuclear destruction. It has all the realism and credibility we have come to know and it is horribly believable.
This is how scary and out of control it has all become. If this doesn’t scare the shit clean out of you, nothing will.
